This honour recognises Prof. Sejdinis's many years of work in research and teaching, as well as his contribution to social dialogue and to a plurality-sensitive approach to religion in contemporary society. The laudatory speech was given by SC Mag. Martin Kienl, M.A.I.S.
In attendance at the ceremony were Prof. Sejdini's family, numerous members of the two Islamic Institutes at the University of Vienna and the University of Innsbruck, as well as representatives from academia, politics and civil society.
