The event offered attendees the opportunity to gain an insight into the rich culture of Uzbekistan through a diverse programme.
The event kicked off with an opening speech by the Ambassador of Uzbekistan, H.E. Bakhtiyor Ibragimov, followed by a presentation by Botir Usmanov (Rector of the Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology) on the cultural and historical heritage of Uzbekistan and the importance of the upcoming UNESCO General Assembly in Samarkand in 2025.
The "Turon Couture" presentation brought Uzbek culture to life and made it tangible by impressively showcasing the artistic and outstanding craftsmanship and traditions of Uzbek costumes. The dances with live singing were a particular highlight, reflecting not only the artistic side and diversity, but also the country's deeply rooted forms of cultural expression.
The evening ended with a small exhibition and a shared dinner, during which "Plov" (pilaw) was served. This traditional Uzbek rice dish with meat and vegetables is a symbol of community and hospitality.
