Lecture Series: Interdisziplinäre Studien zum Alevitentum [Interdisciplinary Studies on Alevism]

This year's lecture series is organised by Univ. Prof. Dr Handan Aksünger-Kizil and Dr Deniz Coşan Eke, BSc MA MSc from the discipline of Alevi Theological Studies.

As part of the individual BA programme "Alevi Theological Studies", a special lecture series on the topic of "Interdisciplinary Studies on Alevism" was offered for the first time. Even though the subject "Alevi Theological Studies" is still in its founding phase, the topic of Alevism has increasingly become the focus of various disciplines since the 1980/1990s. Against this background, the students were not only able to gain an insight into the various subject areas such as politics, history, society, religion and gender through selected teaching contracts, but were also able to familiarise themselves with various interdisciplinary and international research on Alevism. For this course, Univ.-Prof. Mag. Dr. Handan Aksünger-Kizil and Dr. Deniz Coşan Eke, BSc MA MSc have organised a varied programme with interesting topics and speakers from Germany, Turkey and Great Britain for the winter semester 2023/2024.

The lectures take place on Tuesdays from 6.30pm - 8pm and are held via Zoom.
