On June 18, 2020, an online defensio took place for the first time at the Department of Islamic Theological Studies. Dr. Ahmed Al Shafey, BA MA completed this on the thesis topic On Dealing with the Qur'anic Narrative: The Qur'anic Narrative between Literary and Historical Approach using the Example of Mohammad Ahmad Halafallah and at-Tabari, al-Qurtubi and Ibn Katir from the Dissertation Field of Islamic Religious Education (Supervisor: Univ.-Prof. Dr. Ednan Aslan, MA) and was able to complete his studies with excellent marks.
