Theologisches Reflektorium

08.10.2024

The "Theologisches Reflektorium" [Theological Reflexion] is an academic platform that promotes dialogue on theological, ethical, religious and normative issues that affect the everyday lives of Muslims. Complex topics are discussed here in an interdisciplinary and practice-orientated manner, with a particular focus on perspectives from the Muslim world in order to initiate well-founded and socially relevant discourse.

The central element of the platform is the interactive online component "sli.do". Via a link provided on the website of the Department of Islamic-Theological Studies, participants have the opportunity to ask questions anonymously. These questions form the basis for discussion rounds, which take place on two fixed dates during the semester and enable an in-depth examination of the submitted topics.

The aim of the "Theological Reflexion" is not only to gain scientific knowledge at an academic level, but also to transfer it into a broader social context. By collaborating with relevant stakeholders and incorporating practical experience, research in the field of Islamic theology is linked more closely to the needs of society and its practical relevance is strengthened.

The discussion rounds are offered in a hybrid format that enables both on-site and online participation to ensure broad and diverse participation. The recordings of the discussions are then published on YouTube to make the content permanently accessible and achieve a long-term impact.

Format explanation

Questions on theological, ethical or religious topics can be submitted anonymously via the link provided. Depending on the number and subject matter of the questions submitted, these will be discussed in two to three public discussion rounds per semester, which will take place both in person and online. Ass.-Prof. Dr Tugrul Kurt is responsible for the format.
