A journey to Jerusalem

11.11.2017

The Jewish Rabbi Schlomo Hofmeister, Muslim religious educator Ednan Aslan, Roman Catholic Vicar General Nikolaus Krasa and the Evangelical Bishop Michael Bünker wanted to show though their journey to Jerusalem that an interreligious understanding, and even friendship, are possible.

Visits to holy sites, such as the Western Wall, Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Church of the Resurrection, were an opportunity become even more familiar with each other. At the same time it was a chance "to rethink one's own position, learn something more, perhaps unlearn some other things because one realized that 'I have thought something that perhaps is not true'", as Michael Bünker put it.

Under the following link you can find an article (in German) about the journey to Israel, prepared by the ORF programme "Orientation".
